Camera surveillance policy
Introduction
Our members and employees must feel comfortable and safe in their sports clubs. In order to guarantee this as much as possible, camera surveillance is carried out in our sports club. We realize very well that camera surveillance also infringes on the privacy of our members and staff and we are therefore extremely careful with this.
No camera surveillance takes place, for example, in changing rooms and sanitary facilities, and monitoring is primarily reactive. This means that images are only viewed after a report of an incident has been received. In this camera surveillance regulation, rules and basic principles have been established that must guarantee the privacy of our members and employees as much as possible and in which we want to offer transparency about our methods. We strive to use camera surveillance with the greatest possible integrity, transparency and proportionality.
Purpose and scope of camera surveillance
These regulations apply to Fit&Looks BV te Schoten.
CrossFit W uses camera surveillance for the following purposes:
The protection of its members and employees in the event of danger due to, for example, nuisance, aggression, violence or other criminal offences.
To prevent access by unauthorized persons.
To prevent or investigate damage or theft of property of CrossFit W, its members or employees.
Camera supervision is limited to:
Places that respect the privacy of our members and employees as much as possible. In any case, no camera surveillance will take place in locker rooms, washrooms, individual offices or other places where employees and visitors to the sports clubs may expect a high degree of privacy;
(b) in a manner that avoids unnecessary or disproportionate monitoring;
c) in a transparent manner, meaning that covert camera surveillance or the use of hidden cameras will not be employed;
d) only in a General area when necessary, for example when it also contains a patch cabinet, valuable goods or supplies. In doing so, the camera in question will be focused only on the object to be monitored and the range will be strictly limited, so that the privacy of the users of the General Area is respected as much as possible.
Camera surveillance is never intended to monitor employees of CrossFit W in the performance of their work and duties. In camera surveillance and the use of visual material, the privacy of our employees will be respected as much as possible. Only when an employee appears to be involved in violations images can be viewed by the Owners and its procedures will be followed.
In principle, only reactive monitoring is carried out, unless there are compelling and special circumstances that act as a reason to prevent this.
Camera images will not be shared with third parties, except in cases where a competent government body issues a lawful (written) demand to that effect, or when another statutory regulation requires CrossFit W to do so. Such requests will only be processed by the RSC in accordance with procedures established for this purpose.
